Fishing

To fish, you will need a license, a fishing rod, and bait. You can fish either on the shore or via a boat. You will need the bait in your inventory to use the fishing rod, which is also used through the inventory menu.

Fishing Minigame

With your rod out, you will periodically be presented with "Press x to reel in your catch", where x will be a different button on your keyboard. Provided you have the bait and the inventory space, this has a chance to reel in a fish. The fish may also swim away from your rod, and you may also lose your bait with no catch.

Illegal Fishing

Alongside regular fishing, there are also 'protected species' which are illegal to fish. These include sharks, dolphins, and whales. Illegal fish have their own sell-point, with more lucrative prices but this location must be found through roleplay methods.

Fishing Hotspots

While fishing inside a fishing hotspot, your chance to catch a rare fish are increased. On top of that, you may be lucky and fish up a fishing casket, open it up and see what valuable pirate style loot you find, full of history and value.
