Creating and Managing a Territory

Creating a Territory

Creating a territory is the first step to making your group have a mark on the city of Highlife. Starting your plot opens up a whole new avenue of activities and benefits for your group to partake in.

You can place your first territory marker down on any unowned tile within door distance of an owned property of any type (Warehouse, Motel, Apartment etc.). This property has to be owned under your name - you cannot start a territory outside of a property that a different group member owns. The initial tile cannot be placed over an existing group's territory.

Creating this initial tile costs $20,000 and 20 group reputation, and you will also require the Manage Territory permission within your group.

Expansion

Expanding territories can be achieved by members with valid permission simply moving into an adjacent available grid and using the group menu again to expand the territory. This can be done a total of 60 times (including the initial claim).

Contesting Territory

You can make a move on an adjacent rival territory to take it for yourself, provided the target square isn't already under contest. Starting a contest costs your group 30 reputation, and can be cancelled at any time. A territory contest is effectively a reputation bidding war between the Attacker and the Defender. Both sides have a 24-hour timer to contribute reputation to the contest, and reputation can be added at any moment during the timer. If you attack the territory and successfully contribute more rep, you take the territory. Defenders will keep the territory if they are outbid.

Perks

Some group perks can only be unlocked when you own a territory. Currently, 6 perks apply to the territory system:

  • Traphouse: Properties within the territory will passively sell drugs while players are within the territory. Cops will block this function for each cycle they are present in your territory. Traphouse requires one other criminal perk to unlock
  • Spin Cycle: Properties within the territory will passively wash dirty money while players are within the territory
  • Well Stocked: Group members will passively gain hunger and thirst while within their territory
  • My Neighbour: Locals will no longer attack you when selling drugs within your area
  • Affiliated: You're less likely to be targeted by gang members while within your territory
  • Safe Zone: Locals feel safe in your territory, expect more to be walking within your territory
